Do you think our government should stop spending money on preserving our monuments, and use it instead for the betterment of the poor?

Many monument helps government to earn revenue. These are all our pride so govt. should take care of them.
how monuments can help poor . although these are the symbol of old famous people like mahatma gandhi.
The poor should be given more skill and opportunities to work for better income and remove property. any charity type help is no good. A Chinese proverb is very relevant- If you give a fish, you fed once; but if you teach fishing, you feed all life.

The monuments are historical evidence of past and cultural heritage. many monuments are of international significance. These also attract tourists and promote our various export industries, tourism and hotel. There is no point in diverting money from monuments to social security schemes.
No.Monuments should be preserved to reveal the next generation how was their past.
I think government should balance the money for both preserving monuments and betterment of the poor.
Poor are to be considered with due importance. At the same time the pillars of our culture are to be preserved.
the most important question arise historical momument are important but it can be preseve by taking aginst the poor and needy.
No.Poor people are to be given importance and priority in this case,
No monuments are our Indian property which enriches our Indias status. There are some other ways where government is spending alot of money on unnecessary things. so that amount can be spent on poor.
A nation lives as much in the present as in the past and our glorious past is relflected through these monuments which we must preserve and protect!

So true! In fact the ancient monuments of any country are evidences of its glorious and rich traditions and are a heritage of its culture. The fact actually is that so much less money is spent on preserving the monuments than is required that so many monuments, beautiful temples and forts are literally falling to dust. instead of stopping this already-so-negligible amounts, the unbelievably huge amounts of money that is offered to various temple shrines around the country can be diverted to provide basic necessities to the poor!
We are notorious for displaying neglect and inadequate appreciation of our past.It is really painful when the people and countries all over are trying to discover and re-discover India and her age-old civilization, we are asking ourselves if we should spend more or less on our invaluable monuments!!
Yes monuments should be saved, and helping poor, government can do with the taxes they collect from the people
Our monuments should be preserved by the government. the money in many things of government are been collected and taken by the people who are working under government if those money are been taken and spent on the poor and our country then our country will be better than the USA country which is now known as the best country in the world
The whole world is made from the people so try to improve the life of the people not a momunment.
Both have it individual importance it is good that government should show concern for poor and side by side help in protecting our monuments.
