Buying two railway tickets

Yesterday, I was amused to hear the funny event. A friend of mine reached the ticket window when his train was about to leave. He told the man standing in queue before him to buy one more ticket to New Delhi. The man bought two tickets. Both entered same compartment. After some time, a TTE came and asked for ticket. My friend told that the neighboring passenger had ticket. That passenger said, "I have only my ticket." My friend was horrified and he exclaimed, "I heard you asking for two tickets at the window!". The man told that he had bought two tickets for himself as he could not but a ticket last day. He was absolutely honest and so he compensated Railway by buying ticket for last day journey also.
