I hope this will help me to learn new words . Thank you.
in my opinion you must join English coaching classes.
As language is for communication, it is okay to use the words as commonly understood and pronounce as most peope do. Simultaneoulsy, we may keep track of correct usage and pronunciation by carefully reading and watching TV or surfing net.
Yes, in our day-to-day life we do not use correct english while writing and speaking...

Most of us write:
"Ram is one of the best boy... "
and not
"Ram is one of the best boys.
Anothe common mistake is in the usage of I and me

"I and my brother watched the movie"
Not "Me and my brother.."
Always split.. the sentence like: "
Can anybody please explain the difference between "I want to speak to you" and "I want to speak with you"
Hi monoj kumar:
Can anybody please explain the difference between "I want to speak to you" and "I want to speak with you".

* I want to speak to you means that you want to call or message or chat with him.

* I want to speak with you means that you want to meet him in person and talk.
Hi guys i have a question can any one reply me.

while introducing yourself to a HR, everyone used to tell that I completed my schooling in ....... however some used to say schoolings which one is correct
I think schooling is the correct one since it is used as a noun derived from a verb.Correct me if I am wrong.
Harish- one example I may give. many often say- 'sabse best'. Hweree 'sabse' is superfluous. In the example, 'Ram' is misspelt. This should be 'Rama'. If you add the 'aa' matra, this would be 'Ramaa'.
Difference between whether and weather.

I am sure many people are still confused between these 2 words(because I am:))
Just wanted to share one way of differentiating.

Weather has "water" in it, which usually refers to climate. So weather is climate.

So, it becomes easier to differentiate.
There are many words resembling each other but different in meaning. Only practice and keen observation can help.
It's really helpful guys...hope to get more from all of you!!!
Partibhan- I think the preposition 'to' is unnecessary before 'learn. So the sentence should be- 'I hope this will help me learn new words."
nice discussion above guys....

Ok,

what is the difference between affect and effect?
Affect- is a verb. Effect- a noun. so, smoking affects our health badly. or smoking has bad effect on our health.

Effect also means belonging- As he lost all his personal effects in the train robbery.
Hope this will be as a good place to learn meanings and differences of words.
Yes a very good place to actually differentiate between commonly mistaken words.

E.g. when I am actually angry or fuming about something, I have actually been asked a number of times as to why I am NERVOUS? Seriously, is nervous synonymous with angry?
Another pair of misused words that I have come across are convulsion and conversion.

Convulsion is a medical condition of body in which there is rapid contraction and relaxation of muscles.

Conversion is changing from one form to another; frequently used in terms of changing currency from one type to another.

See the difference and yet is being used in place of one another!
Happy to see a forum discussion like this.I also will supply some soon.
