Even if we disagree on anna's views on Lok Pal or about method to remove corruption, he has democratic right to organize meeting, observe hunger strike and air his views. The government and the ruling parties could also counter the views of anna politically instead of banning his meeting. There have been many rallies and protests in the past. This one could also be allowed.
It is no surprise that the entire opposition, NDA as well as left oppose arrest of anna and suppression of his movement in spite of differences of opinion on Lok Pal. It is also interesting that Rahul Gandhi breaks law for his meetings in U.P. and congress supports this. What applies to Rahul should apply to anna also. why different standards.
This is a good news. No one can do anything he want.We could not violate our constitution. If let him do anything then anyone can do anything.
What you meant to say, in effect that no one should protest against corruption??
The government has been busy embezzling millions of billions of rupees and no one is to question them??
This is even worse than the days of emergency! if instances like this keep happening then we are very well on the way to becoming a police state!

Presently, Rahul Gandhi is against this step taken by the Government. According to him, each and every citizen has right to protest. Even Mr. Sathe agree with AICC General Secretary. At the time of British Rule also many people protested against British Government using this right.
Let us not compare with British rule. British also arrested and even baton charged the protesters. The Delhi police was not violent and performed job peacefully and soberly. Everyone has right to protest but the police have to maintain law and order, orderly traffic movement and many other things. There must be balance between protester's rights and an ordinary citizen's right against nuisance caused by big crowds and noise.
