You have raised a very important point of so called illegitimate child.

A child held in the womb of mother for 9 months and born out of natural reproductive process cannot be branded as illegitimate.

In the crazy world where even individuals of the same gender have acquired legal recognition and gays are fighting battle for their rights... a child born to a mother cannot and should not be called illegitimate.

All the children born to a mother are mothers' children.

If mother has a legal husband and the biological father of the child then the child is attached a tag of her legitimate parents.

Nevertheless if the mother is single and does not like to disclose the identity of the child's biological father, then the child should be registered as a legitimate child of the mother.

Yes, really an important issue. Such children are later thrown to streets for illegal activities .

Harish- It gives me immense satisfaction that you have very aptly comprehended the issue. The children are innocent and without any blemish. Therfe is no reason whay a chid shoud carry the 'illegetimate' tag. I also agreee with you about the craziness in gay lesbian (same sex) relations that can never be accepted by any sensibile person.

Bhanu- You have well commented- How people can be so cruel. In today's local newspaper of Agra, the sacrifice of two children at different places has been reported. This is the climax of cruelty and religious madness. There is no end of cruelty. Any child should not be considered illegitimate for immoral relations between parents.

Now the Supreme court has decided that live in relation and premarital sex are not unlawful. Consequently, children born out of such premarital sex are definitely not illegitimate. If there is clear proof of living together, children are entitled to all rights irrespective of their parents not married formally.
