Why do muslims do fasting on RamZan for one month continuously?

Its their religious practice to pray god.They are asked to fast from dawn to dusk for the whole one month.

Ramsan is the month in which the Holy Quran came as light for all mankind(not only for muslims). As a thanks giving to this Muslims observe fast as directed in Holy Quran.
