The government departments are collecting information about fixed and mobile phones of industrialists and businessmen. They use voice talk for seeking illicit favors and bribes.
As a measure to check corruption, unofficial talk on phone between govt. officials with public should be banned. They should be asked to send emails or letter only for any departmental matter. Members are requested to kindly give their views.

Its a very good idea ,but I don't think that it will be strictly followed. If followed also, they will find some other way to bribe.
All matter pertaining to government should be in writing. This is for two reasons: First, government job is not individual's. Individuals are frequently transferred. So, there must be everything on record to enable any one even posted recently to know a case. Verbal talks on phone do not provide any written record. Secondly, mobile phones are used for unlawful contact.
The call details on mobile phones may provide clue. Presently, the calls by an to private parties on official matters are not banned. In case ban is enforced, disciplinary action can be taken on merely using mobile phone or even fixed phone for contact with public.
I feel that even too much social contact between government officers and public should be checked. These are for facilitating corruption. I remember that I had in a thread pointed out role of civil clubs in facilitating corruption.
don't ban their phones......... simply tap their phones
By tapping the phones, you will know that they talked to some people. Talk with those who have official dealings should be considered undesirable and banned. In fact, it is necessary to stop all social contacts by officials even in clubs. This is necessary to curb corruption.
