Ramayan is not a story . Its an epic.I think i should now agree with some members , that we indians don't hesitate to write anything about our deities and epic . and what do you mean by Ramayan type uhhhhhhh.Model your question like

Ramayana has been written by many authors from time to time. There is no end. So, any one may write. But each such writing is an independent work. This is not revision. Balmiki wrote first. No body can revise his work. Similarly, no body can revise Tulsi Das' Ram Charit Manas, Kadamb's Ramayana etc. Amita Singh may also write This will also be considered original and not a revised one one.

Ramayan is not a normal story. We don't know whether it is a epic or a real story. But in Ramayan we find characters with full of human values and the characters are designed such a way that every character has its own responsibilities.
Ramayan is an idle story / epic.

By revision the originality of the story at present will be lost.Also many will begin to modify according to their thoughts.So not good to revise.

I think its very rare that Ramayan story will repeat or new story like Ramayan will come next time so we should happy to keep watch our old ramayan's Story which is very nice.

Rohit- you say Ramayan is not a story but an epic. Epic is nothing but very big story. So, this is indeed a story. It is another thing that this epic is very popular and its characters are also worshipped. Ramayana has been written by many. I some versions popular in countries like Bali, Rama and Luxman- mare ony two brothers. In the North, Ram Charit Manas of Tulsidas is more populuar whereas in the South, Kadamb Ramayan is popular. The original one is that of Balmiki. As long as we maintain respect to each other and feelings, there is nothing wrong to share views and information. After all, information creates wealth.

I agree with Deepti. Ramayana is not normal but an inseperable part of religion and is considered holy. The characters are inspiring. They attract reverence. However, Ramayana is considered an Epic and not a part of history.

Ramayan has been written in many languages in India. It has also been written in many other countries other than India. Nevertheless it is not merely an epic it is a matter of spiritual belief of Hindus and with the characters of Ramayana Hindus is emotionally attached.

Lord Ram is the aaraadhya deva of we Hindus and we worship Him with all our faith and belief. And faith and belief and emotional relations are not revised.

according to me.. it should not revised because it is an epic and we should give respect for that epic

Dear Amita Ramayan you can write your own Ramayan with some prooves and you can refer our old Ramayana Books.

Ramayana is not a Forum of a website where we can post our own content without having proper knowledge of the theory and command on our language.

It can be revised without altering the basic structure. There may be some innovative ideas to make it more presentable to future generation. As we see remix of old song.

We Hindus are the only people in the world who discuss about our religious scriptures in so very casual way...

We do not have adequate general awareness for posting suitable contents for general discussions and resort to putting our own religion for a public argument... and acid tests...

Well I think it will be reviewed but only to a certain extent that it has some interest with the changing world.

I think it is being showed so many times that people will not try to do another experiment with it.

Yes Harish- Ramayana is an epic but you rightly say this is not mere epic This is a sacred Hindu scripture and a matter of faith. Nobody can revise Ramayana written by Balmiki or Ram charait Manas by Tulsi Das. However as long as respect is maintained, anybody may write a script for TV or book. Raja Gopala chari also wrote one. If anyone writes in disrespectful manner- as some have done viz. so called 'Sachi Ramayana', this will be opposed tooth and nail.
