Hi All,

I am back with another round of Group Discussion Contest. The topic for this round is

Government recently decided to divest part of the share of Government companies to get an investment of around Rs.25,000 crore. We also saw the divestment plans on BSNL shares for over Rs.40,000 crore but it is postponed later due to the agitations from the employee unions, but I am sure it will come again at least in the future. So this week's topic is -

"Does privatization good for India's future?"

As a coin has two sides every things has two sides positive and negative . privatization will help the private companies to develop but it may have some negative aspects too. lets see what other feel.
i support privatization because it will reduce the overload of government. The working of private companies is 100times better then government ones.

The decision making is slow, corruption, for small file moving it will take years of time.Privatization is good. But for things like railway, buses semi privatization is good because in private sector they wont care for normal people, their main aim is to get profits, then it will be burden for normal middle class and poor people.Due to this privatization now the rates are high.Semi privatization is good for all.
radhika you are right but if more privatization happens then government may loose some revenue which it gets by investing and the companies government runs. Government may then try to earn revenue by imposing high tax rates on private companies which may be wrong.
Complete privitization for India will not help. The goverment needs to keep control on what is being done by the private companies
Dhirendra it will not be easy for the government to keep control on the things done by private companies as in India there will be many private companies if privatization is done. i think privatization in some sectors only may be a good step and it will only result in benefits to the society.
Its not possible for the government to look after all the sectors.
When the private sector takes the responsibility the quality of work is more.
The government can take the responsibility of analyzing the performance of the private companies.
This ensures more quality and lessens the mistakes.
but the private sector only concentrate on profit only and not on workers welfare.... to make privatization on government sectors made workers still worse only....
As Per Topic : "Does privatization good for India's future?"

A government company do better and get success slowly slowly. Its need a medium which can make it fast and more successful.

If we wanna jobs in Government sector, then its not easy to get. As private companies will enter some their part with government, then it can increase the success and jobs also. In private company every employee can do with their talent and confidence and hard work. So there is no partiality in private sector. this privatization with surely change some curruption environment of goverment sector and recurement rules for employees. So i think its good to enter to some private part into government sector.

Every service of private sector have quick response and good service. This will also make some changes in the slow response of govt. sector.

So Privatization is good for India's Future.
Privatization is good for India's future, because

Privatization will attract foreign investment and bring about efficiency.

Privatization will permit changes in management practices and labor attitudes and can lead to as yet untapped improvements in productivity.

Privatization will facilitate better allocation of financial resources towards the most productive sectors of economy and generating overall productivity improvements across the economy of the region.
Both are not good for India, because we are still in developement stage we need semi privatization.

Suppose take cars manufacturing. If government take up this for a single car manufacturing it will take 1month.But the rate of car will be very less and also the quality of car will be less. But car is not needed for a common man.

Take bus it is a common source for traveling if we privatize it .The bus charges will be high due to increase in petrol rate.
In both good and bad is there. In private sector they will never take care of the normal people and their needs,in government sector they will see only needs of people. But so much of corruption, and lazyness.

So i think every thing has to be privatized but government should have authority on all the companies. Then no political power these corruption every thing will go off.
privatization is good For India..
Nowadays, some banks and insurance sector privatization running successfully. They are Provide More offers to customers,

Dear you are right at your words, every decision has +ive and +ive aspects. But its mean not that we will not go for any decision. We have to go, and privatization is good for government future. It will increase the service and response both.

The negative point is little bit decrement in reliability.

So we can cover it also with other facts. So Privatization of Goverenment is good.

Radhika your words are right at some points.. like :But for things like railway, buses semi privatization is good because in private sector they wont care for normal people, their main aim is to get profits, then it will be burden for normal middle class and poor people.

But we are saying about the 100% privatization of government. Its only 30%. So government will also think about the prices for middle class and poor people.
Lohit you are right that privatisation is good for the development of the society and the people but to remove the negative aspects of privatisation the government need to plan its privatisation strategy. Before taking any step it need to be well planned otherwise their can big losses too. If privatisation is properly planned then there be a huge development of the people and the country both.
You are correct COOL BOY. The Government should plan privatization in India to ensure overall growth of economy.
Thanks Manoj for supporting me i have a lot of views regarding privatisation how can it be helpful and how sometimes it can harm the economy too lets now see the views of other may be they be having the same views or they may oppose us. This group discussion will help us to get good knowledge.
Privatization is the need of current government because the work of government is not so much fast responding. Privatization will emits so much jobs in Government sector and the results will be good surely.
Government companies are going behind privatisation not due to loss. But I think it is due to some trick played by someone at top of government itself for favouring some of their colleagues.

Yes Lubna i am agree with you completely. Government jobs have no so much goos system, and big officers assume government as their property. So curruption is increasing. Privatization will decrease the curruption.
yes Lohit privatisation may decrease the corruption to some extent but it will not remove the corruption completly and it may so happen that some private companies may start dominating over the market and have their monopoly.
