History of own family

just contacting elders and their elders like that we can find our own family history

it is very simple if we talk about it it with our grand parents they can easily explains us the history.

Our elders in the form of our grand parents, father, mother could help us to know about the history of our family. Even we could be history to our forth coming generation!!!

I feel it`s really very difficult to know the one`s own family history if our elders are not alive.... can you people say the history of previous ten generation..

It is a very difficult task Satish to know about ones family history for about the last ten generation especially when our ancestors are not there with us. I don't think there is any other way until and unless our ancestors are very famous personalities....

Discuss with the old members of the family.THey will suggest the ways of getting it.

If we talk about it with our grand parents ,they can discuss but it will be about 2/3 generations. one incident surprised me when we went to puri temple there ponda told me the all names of my ancestors.

We are preparing the history of our family.We adopt the method I told above.

You can find history of your family members by asking the elders person at home about their previous generation by showing old photographs and enquiringly about them.

History of family is generally by word of mouth only. Generally, we remember only up to third generation above or below- ascendants or descendants.

The Purohits at Hardwar(Uttarakhand) maintain family records of their Yajmaans generation to generation and they update by getting information whenever somebody goes there for last rites after death. There are similar Purohits at other places also.

It is very difficult to find the more than past 3 or 4 generations.
