One needs only food, shelter, sex, security and entertainment. Everything else is subordinated to these needs. Man lives in community. Hence many principles, rules and a system was evolved for orderly functioning of human society. Religion has also played a part in regulating human society. The dos and don'ts were prescribed by religion. In this connection, we may refer to Ten commandments. Our individual, group, family and social conduct is mainly regulated by religion. Virtue and sins are religious concepts that guide people to lead a virtuous path and desist from sin.
We all are belong to one religion that is humanity which god gave us. but what we did. we made our own gods and divided into religions. but did stop with this. we even divided religions into castes. I feel religion and caste is waste. WE should always feel god is one and we all are human beings this is the best way of religionism
There are as many interpretations of it as many heads and minds! What we should be looking to is its essence.Some have reduced it to a few rituals and rites.Some have treated it as a tool to further their not so religious causes.The world has witnessed more bloodsheds and deaths than that documented by regular wars! To me religion is nothing but sticking to my conscience and I have very little faith in any organized religion!
Religion has played an important role in human society. But multiplicity of religions and sects, orthodoxy, rigidity and superstitions distorted religion. Presently, organized religion is obstacle to free thought and progress as rightly stated by Chinmoy. Lenin considered religion as opium of the masses.
I am a believer of that religion which unites not divides to the destruction of all what the civilized world stands for!A religion should elevate us to a higher being!
There are two aspects of religion as practised. This is a set of beliefs. You get ready made opinion on almost every aspect of life just becasue you belong to a particular religious community by birth only and not by conviction. Alart from beliefs, there are also seperate customs of marriage and property.

I think when we take birth in a particular religion we come to know about its teaching and values and start following them as we grow up in that environment only.
Otherwise there is no need of religion which have been defined by the human beings as per their convinience.In a nutshell, the teachings of all the religion are more or less the same.
