Do surnames matter?

Do surnames matter? Surnames are just like product brands. Who will deny that Gandhi, Nehru, Kennedy- these brands help in politics. Similarly, Kapoor, Khanna are well known brands in films. These do help but one must possess talent also. This is just as famous product brand should have some quality also.

But here is contrary opinion. We may recall that shakespeare had said- What is in a name.
