No. You may give karma to another even if you have no karma. This is not a give and take system. You do not transfer your karma. This is only a record of appreciation. Even if you do not give karma to others, you may get from them. I find that you have minus five karma. I am giving you plus karma now. You will see that your karma is increased to -4. My karma will not change.

If you give karma to others, it shows your liking in those persons posts while if you get karma, it shows that other members have been benifitted out of your posts.
Giving to others and accepting from them are not inter-related. :)
