Pro-Andhra Cong MLAs hold meet

As many as 40 pro-Andhra Congress lawmakers are camping here to meet central leadership in a bid to step-up their campaign for keeping Andhra Pradesh united.

Earlier in the day, these leaders held a strategy meeting at Mr Rao’s residence and after the meeting the senior congress MP said the lawmakers from coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions came in “large numbers” to convey the message to the Centre that dividing Andhra Pradesh would hurt the sentiments of millions of people in the state. “We want to make clear that we stand for a united Andhra Pradesh. The Centre should not take any move that would hurt the unity of the state,” Mr Rao had said.
