Difference between proverbs and quotes

Quote is written by some identifiable person but proverbs you don't know the author...

That means proverbs and quotes are same, I thought quotes are just sayings

I partly agree with the sathish statement but there lies a vast difference between the same. Proverbs are more meaningful and indepth analyis of saying with experience and whereas quotes are not so.
