What is Military Police and their duties?

Corps of Military Police (C.M.P.) is internal police organization of Army. They deal with acts of indiscipline, traffic violation, misconduct by soldiers in civil area. They arrest soldiers involved in misconduct and hand over to concerned unit for appropriate action.

I may further add that corps of military police also performs traffic police duties for army. When an army person needs be prosecuted for a civil offence, the military police will hand over the offending army person to civil police.
