Donate body for medical research and study

Veteren Marxis leader Jyoti Basu has given a very good lead by donating his dead body for medical research. I think this is a very good lead given by him. After our death, there can be no better use of our bodies. The medical coleges find acute difficulty is getting bodies for research and study. I think we should all follow Jyoti Bassu's example. The government should encourage people to donate their bodies after death for medical research and studies. I invite members' views.

You have done a great job by highlighting his noble act and when a person of his stature set an example like this,I am sure it would inspire all of us to follow his example.

This is a great thing if we can also help people after our Death.
I am ready to give my body after my death which will help our Medical people for Research

I have a view against this.
There may be chances of studying our own relatives in that college.Making our corps as a study material may hurt them.

Regarding Jyothi Basu he was a communist.So his thoughts were revalutionary.But men like me having some faith in God may not be able to donate my corps without discussing with my family.Also my religious belief asks to bury the body after death.

If we donate our body's part after death then i think its our new life with our body parts which mix with other body. so its nice to donate.

It is good to donate. Jyoti Basu did a wonderful job. I think people should come forward by seeing Jyoti Basu.

I agree that Abid has a point. Donating body or its parts has some religious implications. But I feel we should shed such notions and donate our body after death. However this will be always a controverial matter. All will not agree. But even if ten per cent agree, this will mean a lot.

Donating our body after death is really a good thing. Especially if some parts of our body like eyes can give a new life to somebody else.So we are doing good even after our death also.

After all it's one's voluntary decision and Late Jyoti Basu's decision was a triumph of mind over matter- a decision which truly shows the height of rationality!
