Why c for chopra and C for kemistry

This is old joke. 'Ch' is used for sound of 'k' as well as the beginning sound in 'chair'. We have to tolerate various pronunciation of 'ch'. Simuilarly, the letter 'u' is pronounced differently in 'put' and 'but'. We have no way to change.

Santosh, written words in English are totally different from what their pronunciation sounds.

As you know there are 26 alphabets in english, but there are more than 44+ phonetic sounds in english language. (The vowel sounds differs from region to region).

You can always have a look at how many sounds does a particular word have by looking at your oxford dictionary. Besides the wod, in the bracket you will see it's pronunciation.

As the letters are less in english,it is used like this .Similarly,for 'l',it is usedas 'zh'

Roman script ABC is not unique to English. This is used for all European languages. Many words from Latin, French, German etc. are used in English. Also pronunciation of many words changed with time but spelling remain unchanged. Also the words borrowed from other languages could carry the spelling in source language but pronunciation changed. English developed in centuries. There is also variation between old, mid and modern English.

English is not a natural Science like Physics or chemistry with fixed law of nature. Language is more a matter of usage than logic. Hence, we have no way other than to accept spellings and pronunciation as used by English speaking people.
