This indicates subscribers' dissatisfaction with existing operator and hope for better from another operator.
Now a days Tata docomo gives better network and much more special talk time offers....
This shws the customers dissatisfication with the current service providers.Thank you for sharing.
I hadn't changed my number yet.I am a BSNL user since its introduction in my locality.
I agree with Pradeep. This shows Customers are not satisfied with their service providers.
This does not describes that Many mobile customers are unsatisfied with their current Network. Many mobile companies have become competitors of each other. If a person changes one network, other network encourages to take that one by giving cheap offers .So,this makes the customers to change one after other network. After giving the facility to change the network without change of number, customer has been given liberty to switch on different network. They also don't worry to change the network. Thats why we see these numbers of customers that has taken advantage of it.
Ronark,
I think it is due to dissatisfied customers. For a change no one changes number but takes new sim.
Yes, many of my friends ended up changing their sims while retaining their same numbers and gone are the days when one has to change their numbers when switching to other providers or networks...
I think new generation is also trying the other networks just for an experience!
No one is satisfies with what they have...or should I say " the grass is greener on the other side"
MNP en-cashes on this...if the customers are so dissatisfied, they would have taken new numbers....but I believe since a platform for experimenting is available, its being used.

BTW...MNP has a 90 days lock in period which means if you do choose to switch, you cannot switch back immediately. The level of dissatisfaction can only be mapped if these people choose to stay on with the other provider post that period.
Pearl you are correct. I agree at your point of view.
Yes.When one company offers some people go behind it and when other company gives more people turn to it.
The lock in period of 90 days is something that is a factor of worry otherwise the scheme is good and perhaps the only way through which people could retain their own numbers!!!
from the beginning i have airtel and tata never faced any problem hope i never change my network

You already had put leg in two boats!
it means current operators are not working well and customers are not satisfied.
Late entrants like Tata Docomo,MTS etc are getting relatively more benefit out of number portability.

Had it been the earlier scenario, it would have been difficult for the users to change their no and switch to other subscribers.Since there is no requirement to change the existing no which is distributed to all friends and relatives, it is easy to switch.
I think still BSNL is the largest network in INdia with coverage all over India.
