India fourth most dangerous place for women: survey

India itna bhi kharab desh nahi hai. Its better than other countries. Other countries are more worst. I believe that there are worst cases here,but you can't say that because of those cases india is not good for women.

Afghanistan is rated as worst. Poverty is considered as a reason for women's bad status. But poverty and manyother reasons stated are not gende specific. Poverty affects men as well as women. The stateus of women is inferior in Islam as well as Hindus. But what about Christians. Christianity also considers women as second rate.
Rapes, murders, molestations all these take place in western countries also. But the westerners have false sense of superiority Besides racialism, they do not respect women as equals. However, women in Western countries do not feel trauma and shame like their Indian counterparts. We also need to change social environment. Rape is bad but this must not cause stigma to her.

India is the safest place where one can live his or her life peacefully. But situation is slowly changing. People should love and respect other fellowbeing value. women are falling prey to some people who indulge in nuisance things. strict laws should be followed in this regard.

As you told Islam does not sees women as a second rate.She has some speciality while the domination in family life is given to male.

Abid: Let me correct. Secondary position of women is not due to Islam. The system of society is patriarchal. So, woman's position is secondary. This is everywhere except tribal. Level of education and historical conditions in a country also matter.

Its true that in india, women are becoming prey .I think strict rules have to made,so that one thinks 100 times before committing crime.
Dangerous countries : 1. Afghanistan
2. Congo
3. Pakistan
4. India.
Government have to make strict,very strict rules to avoid such crimes.

I also doubt. As regards poverty and illiteracy, this affects both men and women and not gender specific. As pointed out by me in my post, the western countries have a superiority notion and attempt to present a dark picture of Asian and African countries. They conveniently forget that Christianity, the dominating religion in the West justifies spanking of wife.

Yes, westerners are trying to infame the Asian and African countries by many ways.

Exactly it is a fact that crime against women are on the rise and women are not safe and some times she even utilized by others to meet their selfish ends. God knows when we will be able to cope up with this gender based differences that lies in society and perhaps be able to create a society where women will be free from any crime and fear and lead a life of happiness and security...

Any place could be dangerous. We have 99 % of our ladies who leave here peacefully.Few are either at fault due to which they create havvoc for them or few are unfortunate to have those kind of idiots around them

The women not only face rape but are discriminated against even before birth. Sex determination and abortion of female child is also an issue in this regard. Girls are considered as liability. We have to change this mindset. The women face more discrimination in Western U.P., Haryana and Rajasthan.

Sex discrimination is really a curse on the women.It is hard to get rid off from it.

India is not at all safe for women, who ever want they just lift her or they cut the neck or threat her , harass her or else they pour acid. IS this the culture our Indian an-sister gave us. this shows the stupidity of Indian guys.
