Baba Ramdev Hungerstrike - Your Views Please..

Guruji Sri Sri Ravi Shankarji and the Art of Living fully support and endorse your efforts in ending the menace of corruption in India and in bringing back the black money to India.
As Guruji will be away in Germany due to prior commitments, he is unable to join the fast on 4th June. However, he endorses in spirit the cause for which Baba Ramdev is going on fast.

In my Point of view :Its real honest attempt as that of Anna Hazare....Ma y be a game of politics..

Baba Ramdev has already adequate publicity and he need not indulge in any stunts. He genuinely means what he says. He fights for cause. Business is secondary to him. His attempt is more honest than Anna Hazare who wanted only to include 'civil society members' in Lok Pal committee. Baba Ramdev is fighting for real issues like black money, transfer of money to foreign banks etc.

But I do not support hunger strike or gathering in Ram Lila Ground or Jantar Mantar. As a citizen, Baba Ramdev can put forth his suggestions but cannot substitute himself for elected members of legislature.

Now corruption has become such a tempting bandwagon to jump into that all babas are finding it difficult to resist! As far as latest stance of Ramdev on corruption is concerned I can only say that I am very pleased! let there be pressure from all quarters on the corrupt governments in India!

Baba Ramdev's hunger strike is an honest effort against corruption but then only time will tell how much success he meets with such hunger strikes. I think he should have gone for some other unique ways to prove his point...

Fighting corruption is okay. But this must begin at home. How many of us are going never to give or take bribe. It is more important to create conditions in which corruption may be very difficult.

There is no use in holding hunger strikes and agitations. It is very doubtful whether the gathering at Jantar Mantar or Ram Lila Ground consist of really honest and uncorrupted persons.

It is necessary to carryout basic political and administrative reforms and ensure that elections are made less costly.

Whatever may be his intension , what he raised is good thoughts.

Baba Ramdev is a unique personality. He symbolizes true India, national pride and besides Yoga for health, he is also for eradication of corruption, economic self dependance and patriotism. He favors death poenalty for corruption and cancelling high currency Rs. 500/- and Rs. 1,000/- notes. He is against drinking aPepsi and Cola and wants to stop penetration by multinationals. His mission is much wider than Hazare who simply wantewd to participate in Lok Pal Bill without constitutional authority. Let us hope that Baba Ramdev is only agitating for the better and not in game plan to share authority like Hazare team. Here are links giving sketch of Baba Ramdev personality.

His views on language policy and some other issues are controversial. Parliament is supreme. such agitations should not be carried so far as may appear to be intefering with power of parliament and law abiding agencies.

but the main thing is that what he is doing is really a great work and no one having such guts.

we are not poor, our country is called golden bird. But the present situation is near-about Rs 28,000 loan on everyone head of this country.

Rs 1 crore will be have to each and every citizen if black money will come to our motherland from Swiss bank and other.

Money is life blood of human activities. You cannot move even an inch with out money. There is nothing wrong in Baba Ramdev selling health products and getting money for his services. His economic activities are not inconsistent with his religious and social activities. Moreove, he does not lead a luxurious life but spends most of his thime for peoples' betterment.

But I feel he needs not indulge in agitational methods for expressing his demands for bringing money from Swiss banks. He has forecefully presented his views. Rest is for Government to do and opposition to forcefully raise action on this in parliament.

There are charges of deceipt and going back onpromise by Ruling UPA and Patanjali Yog Peeth of Ramdev. Ramdev's demands were more genuine and there can be hardly two opinions on recovering money in Swiss banks and punishing the traitors who deposit black money in Swiss banks. However, if any one expoected that Government would easily accept the demands, he was living in fool's paradise. Although some demands of Baba Ramdev are controversial and need parliamentary discussion, the way he was arrested and supporters terroized can harldy be commended. It is heartening that Baba Ramdev has asked supporters to remain peaceful. Baba Ramdev besides being a religious and Yoga guru
is also showing true Gandhian spirit. Shanti Bhushan member of the Lokpal Draft committee has asked Union Government to resign. However, it would be better if he insisted on opposition and others to bring a no confidence motiuon in parliament. Govt. can be removed only through constitutional means.

Chief Justice of India has no role. If Ramdev is aggrieved by Delhi police action or anything else, he may move an appropriate court. However, he is not likely to succeed in this because state government merely acted to maintain law and order and restore public peace. The government action has helped Ramdev many wauys. His message reached people more effectively and possibly, UPA will suffer in next polls at center and Delhi.

BJP activists agitated against UPA government and Delhi Govt's repressive activities against Baba Ramdev. The UPA has made a joke of itself by first giving VVIP treatment to Ramdev and then repressing him. So many ministers went to receive Baba Ramdev forgetting all protocol and later repressed him just to undo the earlier over welcome.

A group of top ministers gave VVIP welcome to Yog Guru Ramdev who is crusading against black money deposited in swiss banks and checking corruption. At midnight, central government and Delhi administration forcibly evacuated the site of agitation and ill treated the people- aged, infir, women all in a manner not heard before. This is what even Jalaianwallah massacre cannot match. Rightly, every section of society is condemning the unconstitutional, unlawful and violent means adopted by UPA led Union government and Delhi administration. Rightly supreme court has taken suo moto notice and issued notices to concerned authorities. The central government and the ministers can by no stretch of imagination justify their misdeeds.

Ramdev is said to be politically motivated and supported by RSS and BJP. We may differ with the affron block but cannot support cruelty towards harmless and innocent citizens gathered in Ramlila ground on this basis.

To my mind whatever has happened involving Baba Ramdev and subsequent police action has all the elements of a gripping dark drama. Without taking any side I can safely comment that it's all good for the country! More the issue of corruption and black money gets exposure in this country the better!Congress Party is the faountain-head of all corruption and I am not at all surprised at its flip-flop on this issue!

Ramdev has steered his energies to a dangerous direction. From hunger strike against corruption, he has moved to raising a militant force to fight government. Now he says that he will train nationalists and not Maoists. This has no meaning. Maoists are at least honest in their philosophy. They straightway admit that they intend to capture state power through barrel of gun. They also speak for workers and peasants and the downtrodden. Thus they are no less patriot.

The only issue is that any unconstitutional and non parliamentary method- violence or non violence- is unfair and unacceptable. Not to speak of armed rebellion, even non violent non cooperation is unacceptable in a parliamentary system. Neither bullet nor non violent uprising- only ballat is the way.
