Teaching table manners, ettiquette and politeness from the very childhood is necessary. But nere verbal teaching iaineffective. we need to behave well ourselves. This will be more effective as children follow elders' behavior more than what they teach in words.
Alart from various dos and don'ts, the basic principle of all behavior is- Do to othes as you would be done by. Just keeping this in mind, you will always behave well.
