Nudity/Pornography is bold truth

The link shows nudity in various circumstances. But nudity is not pornography. The Jain Sadhus and wrestlers are nude or almost nude. But there in vulgarity or sex involved.

Even sex and nudity are not considered pornography. Ajanta and Ellora caves are all about nudity and sex but these are not pornography. Even literature depicting sex is not always pornographic.

Sex and nudity artistically displayed in picture or words is not pornography. Erotica (Shringar Ras in Hindi literature) is considered queen of literature. Best themes are erotic. The great novels and poems aee on theme of erotica.

When the display of sex and nudity is crude and unartistic, pornography emerges.

There are people with varying intellectual levels and taste. Pornography satisfies a good number of people. This has always existed. Earlier, pornographic literature was sold secretly on foot paths. Internet has now replaced paper pornography. Now we have so many adult sites on internet.

Though nudity and pornography is a bold truth and being used as a success formula in films or in other industries I can only advise that its better for us to stay away from them as much as possible as because it pollutes our mind and thinking and sometimes it could have drastic effects in the mind of people...

There is a difference between erotic and vulgarity. Erotic is spice of life and literature, rather all arts. But we need only a little spice. More spice in life is as bad as extra spice in food.

Truth is the bare fact. Nudity is of course bare fact as there is no concealment. If this is not artistically portrayed, this will be considered vulgar. Of course, you need be bold to do what is considered vulgar or porn by others.

It is true that an individual alone can decide what is good for him. Hence, there should be no ban on any work of art, literature, cinema. In interest of public decency, there can be a system of censorship for regulating display of matter considered vulgar. There are many websites that contain adult oriented materials. You need to sign that you are an adult before proceeding further. A warning is also given that the matter may be considered as offensive by some.

Well said Pearl. There is indeed a very thin line between being true, vulgar and bold. Unfortunately, although all our ancient scriptures and temples abound in fine examples of erotica and worship of the beauty of male and female forms, we Indians still consider nudity to be pornography and shun everything that shows skin as being dirty and vulgar.
