Friday the 13th may prove to be a make or break day for the ruling United Progressive Alliance (UPA). At stake is power in five states including Tamil Nadu, West Bengal. With just hours to go for the election results, Mamata Banerjee's TMC is already celebrating in West Bengal. But it’s a closer contest in the southern states of Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

The results are in progress. Congress TMC alliance is leading in West Bengal. In Kerala, the left front and congress Led UDF are neck to neck. Congress leads in Assam. DMK and AIADMK are in close race in Pudducherry. All results may be declared by end of the day.
In Puducherry, it was neck to neck in the first two rounds between Congress+ and NR.Congress+ but now it looks like NR.Congress+ will be winning the race...
Now the picture is clear. Mamata in West Bengal, Jai Lalita in Tamilnad, Congress in Kerala and Assam. In West Bengal, Left Front had longest ever rule, which is a record. In Assam, the congress is in Government the third time. For congress, all is okay except in Tamilnadu where corruption had impact on Congress DMK alliance.
