Congress today attacked Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati for dubbing Rahul Gandhi's dharna in Greater Noida as "mean theatrics", saying she was acting out of "frustration".

"BSP knows they are going to lose. The Uttar Pradesh government is feeling that it is now time for it to go. They are saying all these things due to frustration.

"The Uttar Pradesh chief minister has lost her self confidence. She had earlier aligned with various parties but that possibility is also not there now. Hence these absurd reactions," party general secretary Janardan Dwivedi told reporters.

The AICC media department chief's reaction came soon after Mayawati held a press conference in Lucknow lambasting Gandhi, the Congress party and other opposition parties accusing them of spreading lies and rumour on the issue.

Dwivedi countered Mayawati, saying "it is absolutely absurd. Whatever Congress did there or Rahul Gandhi is doing across the country is through democratic means.

Jai Jawan jai Kissan should be the motto. There should be a brake on development and industrialization and the demand of agriculture, forests and wild life on land should take precedence. This is a matter of national policy and Mayavati cannot be blamed. Center led by Congress is more to blame.
As regards frustration, clearly Congress is more frustrated than Mayavati. Congress is either a loser or mere puppet of other organizations as in West Bengal, Tamilnadu and some other places.
Its funny how low politics can go...instead of looking into the states matter herself, shes arresting the ones who did bother and look into the situation.I believe that our politicians need to be trained on empathy and human relations...they act stone hearted on top of being silly.

Rahul Gandhi has nothing to do with genuine problems of farmers. He is only hoodwinking the farmers by shedding crocodile tears. His dramatic moves are nothing but an exercise in creating vote bank in next year U.P. assembly elections. As regards his arrest, the state Government only performed basic duty of maintaining law and order in the state.
Really both parties are playing politics rather than farmer's welfare.
This is Politicians game ..Public can't understand this things ...
Rahul Gandhi appears sincere in his fight for farmers' rights. He displayed proof of cruel murder of farmers in state sponsored land grab movement. The farmers unwilling to give up their land for Uamuna express way were tortured and killed.

Mayavati says these are fake proofs. This cannot be. Rahul Gandhi may be sometimes playing gimmicks and making dramatic moves but he is certainly not a liar. He is not a conspirator. He is peoples' man.

The allegations against U.P. administration are very serious. The heinous murders of villagers by U.P. police is far worse than the Nathari killings leading to death sentence. Koli was a psyochpath. But the U.P. police tortured, killed and raped becasue of peoples' resistance to forcible take over of land. Rahul Gandhi deserves all praise for his courage and initiative in highlighting this heinous crime by U.P. administration.

Rahul Gandhi and congress have backtracked on allegations of rape and other charges. Apparently, Rahul made wild allegations of rape and murder without verifying facts in a most irresponsible way. It is clear that congress only plays dramatics and is totally irresponsible and unbelievable.

People in UP seems to be developing faith in Congress and there is a slight possibility that the congress might emerge as a force in UP in 2012 as there are whole lot of corruptions going on in the BSP regime...

The two major forces in U.P. are Bahujan Samaj Party and Samajvadi Party. Congress is confined to a few pockets. Bahujan Samaj Party may be indulging in malpractices, but no one can beat congress in the game of corruption. In U.P., the fight for first and second place is between BSP and SP. Congress and BJP will be in race for third and fourth position.

I appreciated Rahul Gandhi for highlighting murder and rape in U.P. village assuming that he is a responsible person as Congress General Secretary. But I am surprised to see that he made totally fake and irresponsible allegations without verifying facts. The Congress and its office bearers have no sense of responsibility, morality and integrity left. The U.P. people are most likely to reject Congress totally except the few places like Rai Bareilly, Amethi and adjoining area.
To be very frank I found Rahul's appearnce in the company of agitating farmers of UP to be absolutely and shamelessly opportunistic and his so-called espousal of their land-losing caause has a ring of dishonesty and sincerity! The Congress government which held power for maximum number of terms at the centre has not even thought of annulling a blot of a legislation which Britishers enacted to legalize forcible acquisition of land!
