Most of India suffers from narrow communal and caste bias. It is a very healthy sign that predominently Muslim village elected a Pandit woman to Panchayat.

Yes, its very good to learn that Muslims elect a Hindu woman to Panchayat and I think that time has come when we should forget about religious differences and concentrate about in peace and harmony of the nation...
For the betterment of Kashmir and their disputes, this is very good move.
I don't know the political conditions of Kashmir at present. But this definitely proves a different thinking.
It's a good move by Kashmiris, now we can expect a change in the valley

Election of a Kashmiri Pundit women by Muslims indicates communal unity. But election of a single Kashmiri Pundit woman to a Panchayat does not suffice for improving the environment or bringing peace. The autonomy demand and seeratist movement are big obstacles. There is also interference from across the border. These issues need be addressed for bringing peace to the valley.
