Friends,
Elections are over in the state of West Bengal and it has been an extraoridnary experience for voters this time. Credit for it should go in full measure to the most painstaking and conscientious discharge of duties by Chief Election Commissioner Mr. Qureshi and his team. People came out in large numbers to exercise their democratic rights and the polling turnout has been phenomenal as high as more than 80%! If India democracy is winning at the moment it is largely due to the efforts of Mr Qureshi and functionaries like him. He did it in Bihar and has repeated it in West Bengal too! Hats off to him!

I think the main reason to have as many as six rounds of polling in the state owes to the fact that there had been countless complaints against the ruling combine of taking resort to various manipulative and questionable practices to rig elections which may have prompted Election Commission to get tough this time. And the result is for all to see! Even the ruling Front is not complaining!
