Helmet is coulsory in U.P. also. But here people feel proud of breaking law even if this benefits them. Delhi is better in this respect. In Delhi, all two wheeler riders including those in back seat also wear helmets.

I think helmet should be worn while driving two wheelers to avoid any unfortunate thing to take place...And it is a fact that the person close by us are more effected when we meet with any mishaps in our day to day life. I don't know what makes us to skip it from wearing it...

i think most of us don't realize that its for our own good, instead we wear helmet to escape from policemen.

Undoubtedly, most two wheeler users know tahtit is safe to drive with helmet. But wearing helmet is uncomfortable. Out of sheer lethargy and discomfort, many avoid wearing helmet.

Yes Gulshan ji legacy and discomfort is there but other factors like some of the youngsters think that it would go against their style sentiments...

Recently I had an interaction with Calicut City Police Commissioner.He told in a witty manner that those who don't wear helmet may make their head an omlet!

seriously this topic need serious attention, i think most of the people were wearing helmet not for their safety but wearing them by fear of getting caught by cops. Recently i had gone through some incident's which compelled me to wear helmet not just by fear of getting caught by the cops but wear for my own safety, it's humble request for everyone to wear helmet while riding the vehicle..!!

Yes very helmet is a must while driving two wheelers, it is compulsory in maharashtra too but many people don't follow come across with bad accidents...

I do not think that anyone would give here dishonest answer. Here we discuss only common matter and not personal issues. So everyone is honest. Personally, I mentioned that helmet is uneasy to wear. Some others have also mentioned that this spoils hair style or this is against fashion statement. So, members are honest in their answers.

Undoubtedly, helmet makes you safe. But we avoid this just because of inconvenience and uneasiness. Once you begin wearing this regularly, you will be accustomed. It is experience that defence personnel always wear helmet while driving or sitting in pillion seat. This has become their habit. If the traffic police make this strict, everyone will follow. The parents and schools/ colleges have also a role to play in making helmet a habit.

I think wearing helmet should be neccesary in whole India not only kerala but traffice police misuse this rule earn only their view is only earning not anything else.
