The Airtel subscribers in the National Capital Region had a tough time making and receiving calls on Thursday evening after the telecom company faced a network failure.

As no company official was available for the comments, the reason for the network failure could not be ascertained. The Airtel network in the Capital was reported to be down from around 6:45 pm.

As the problem compounded, social networking site Twitter was abuzz with complaints about the lack of network coverage. "Not a single Airtel mobile is working in Sector 61, Noida," said Ravsharm from Noida.

"Airtel network gone in east Delhi. Customer service busy," was what Bharat K from East Delhi had to report.
When MiD DAY tried to reach Airtel's customer service, the line was busy most of the time. Attempts to reach Airtel spokesperson too were not met with any success.
