Congree General Secretary Digvijay sing righly pointed out that the Hazare Fast unto Death event cast Rs, firty lakh. Hence, there should be nothing odd in poll expenses of candidates.

It is true that candidates have to spent a lot for winning parliamentary and state assembly elections. After winning, the M.P. and M.L.A. have to indulge in corrupt activities and to rope in bureaucrats in such activities so as to recover the poll expenses. Hence, the current parliamentary system is basic cause of corruption. Any amount of administrative mechanism viz. CBI, Vigilence commissioner and Now Lok Pal cannot do anything about corruption as long as candidates have to incure heavy expenses on election. The only remedy is: Allow only recognized political parties to contest elections and introduce state funding of elections through recognized political parties.

The National Advisory Committee cahired by sonia Gandhi will not discuss Lok Pal Bill.

In fact, any discussion of the Bill by tha committee including so called civil members is extra constitutional. This will acquire legitimacy only when discussed in parliament and passed therein.

Hazare says that if his fast unto death is blackmail, he will do this again.

In Fact, Hazare misguided people in name of fighting corruption. The Government was already working on Lok Pal Bill. There are already agencies like CBI, C & G, judiciary, that are independent under constituton. One more 'independent' agency like Lok Pal will hardly make any difference.

His fast unto death event was first one. Second, third or subsequent such events will give diminishing returns. It is better to go by law. Fast unto death event is defintely unlawful not only becasie this is blackmail, also this is attempt to commit suicide that is also unlawful underI.P.C.
