It will be better if you join an institute after Xll which prepares prepares you for the entrance exams.

Don't buy books as yet,the institute will guide you regarding the books.At the moment please concentrate on your Xll & do well.Those marks matter a great deal,since high marks will allow u to choose from a greater number of career options.

I think the student himself or herself needs to take the decission in this matter regarding what they should go for as for now-a-days whole range of carrier options are available...
