There are many differences in american and English words and spellings. Amricans drop 'o' in 'our' so 'colour' is 'color', 'Honour' is 'honor' and so on.
I think Americans were not at all good in studying spelling . So they found a short cut like this.Soon we will also introduce something like that.Eg:- u for you !!! :laugh: :laugh: :laugh:
There is nothing wrong in revising spellings for compatibility with pronunciation and ease of writing. The British word Queue is pronouced as 'q' and so spelt in American Englsh. 'U' for 'you' is welcome. However, there will be anarchy in language if everyone attemps to revise speelings.
Yes if every one change spelling according to their usage the language will be corrupted soon.So I think better to follow our traditional English
Indian English is best. The english is no more British. The Asians- prominently Indians- are the largest english speaking people. A dictionary of Indian English sholld be compiled. Quite possible, Indian english may one day be considered most authentic.
There are also a few differences in preposition use including the following:

* American English - on the weekend
British English - at the weekend

* American English - on a team
British English - in a team

* American English - please write me soon
British English - please write to me soon
really, too much difference....

anyways,Americans always looks for shortcuts.
