IS ASTROLOGY BELIVEABLE?

I have written an article: Astrological predictions how true. I believe that astrology as well as numerology, palmistry etc. are all false and baseless.

I wish to point out that the thread is grammatically incorrect. This type of mistake continues in forum and polls.

'Is' has been used twice wrongly. The second 'is' is superfluous. The correct usage is : Is astrology believable.?

Yes, astrology is believable. It is a science and it can predicts future.But,as with other subjects,those who are perfect in Astrology can predict the future correctly.
Earlier, I was not believing astrology or palmistry,and I used to hate it and the astrologer also.But, past 10 years ago my uncle who does astrology as hobby came to my house and asked to read my hand. I casually showed my hand and he predicted about my future.As usual, I didn't believe it at that moment and he told me that one day I will believe it.After,that whatever has happened in my life has changed my life completely and now I completely believe in Astrology. His prediction was like Sanjay of Mahabharata visualizing the war and telling to Dhritarastra,in the same way he narrated everything about my future second by second and it all came true in my life.
So, Astrology is a subject of science and not all astrologers can predict the future correctly.
This is my personal experience which I shared through this post, I am not forcing anybody to believe in Astrology as I myself wasn't believing it till my uncle's prediction.

I basically lack interest in astrology as there are only very few who are well versed in this field.There were days when people really excelled in astrology. It is possible to predict things using astrology.

I think Astrology is not at all true.It is just a prediction only and people beleive it unfortunately.

we basically believe in astrology when something good is said to us and when negative is said we say its not true..

YES....because i felt it true sometimes in my personal life...but i dont think it works out always....

I don't think astrology is true..Only sometimes some predictions made goes right which makes us believe its true, but its not....

To an extent everything seems to be OK but the problem comes when we start believing in something blindly and try to follow it without knowing the pros and cons of it. Lets take it as something we can keep an eye on rather than something that is must and full and final for us.

It is the psychology of beleiver that wins here.If he wishes to beleive so all that comes opposite will be justified by his own mind!!

How can we associate a star which is there for a long time before our birth?

This is not just a matter of distance. This is a matter of scientific investigation. We associate any two things when there is correlation. You may correlate light to heat. You may correlate height to mass or weight.

Even if there is correlation between certain planets and us, this must be general and not individual specific. For example, Sun is also a star that gives us heat. Sun gives heat to all and not specific individuals.

It is funny that same star affects us differently. For some. a star is good and others bad. The astrologers have devised different zodiac signs on basis of birth date, birth place or name. Then they forecast on such baseless correlation.

We can believe the charactestics of a person but not the future
