Eminent economist Malthus had long back cautioned against population growth that rises in geometric progression as against food that grows in arithmetical progression. The technological changes have delayed his prophesy but cannot demolish his theory.

By 2050, the shape of Earth will be drastically different unless population is effectively controlled. Earth remains same whiile population is rising by leaps and bounds.

Population is rising at a fast and alarming rate.. Government has to take strict steps to control it...People needs to be educated....
There are some percent of population who will do what comes in their mind even if they are educated. But yes, all necessary steps should be taken.
His theory is very much at work in India.I believe in every word of it!
Population explosion is equally hazardous as other deadly diseases. Creating Awareness is the only way through which we can control it.
Overpopulation is the mother of all our problems and there should not be an iota of doubt in this regard.
I feel the awareness about population explosion should be created more in rural areas than in urban areas.
Even i agree to it that there is a huge need of creating awareness in rural areas....
I think the Malthus law is not correct. It is God who decides whom to die and where to die.

May be God decides. But we learn from physical conditions. It is true that the size of earth and produce therefrom is limited. If population goes on growing as is the trend, Malthusian theory proves correct.
I think theory is always not completely truth but the present trend of increase in population may make it true.
i think the only way to reduce population is to create awareness about Population explosion especially in the village areas..
The Malthusian theory is basically true and its operation is temporarily offset by technological improvements. However the fact remains that the space on Earth as well as the natural resources are limited and these may not always sustain the ever rising world population.
Many are losing their lives in calamities also. The theory does not see it in advance.

According to Malthus, if we do not control population by positive check, nature will do this in its own way. Hence calamities are nature way of checking population.

Fact remains that overall land area on Earth will not increase. Despite calamities, quakes, population is rising. This is sure to result in crisis sooner or later. Ultimately, Malthus is correct. we shall ignore him to our peril.
