Railway Budget 2011: Fare hike unlikely

This is political compulsion of the Railway Minister who is to face West Bengal assembly elections shortly. Despite railway in red, she has to be populist and cannot raise fares.

Well at least a little good news for the people who are already facing hike in prices everywhere...

The economic logic behind such a decision is not comprehensible and it can at best be called a populist measure!

Yes, this would really be a good news for most of the people who rely totally on rail transport.

What about the safety aspect of rail travel.The rolling stock of Indian railways is old more than a century! 90% of its earnings go to meet the salary bill of its employees!

Safey, Security and Sanity all are a big question mark in terms of rail transport.

Fare hike is always out of range in the case of Railway Budget.
