In spite of clear guidelines and warnings, number of spammed posts is rising. I offer following suggestions for eradication of spam:

(1) Any new member's activity should be closely monitored in first three months.

(2) There should be reward for reporting of spams. The member reporting maximum in a month be given an award or Rs. 50/-

(3) The serious spamming like giving links for advertising products and adult content/ vulgar sites should be viewed most seriously and membership deactivated.

(4) Apart from deactivation of membership, legal action should also be taken under Cyber Criminal law.

(5) Only members active for more than a year may be allowed to introduce new members.

The minimum reward that a member must get for reporting is five points. It takes as much or even more time and effort to report than to write a post in a thread.
Will do that. 8 points will be automatically awarded after reporting. However a false report would eligible for double negative points.

The software needs to be modified for this which we will complete in a day or two.
Will it be intimated to us when the software is ready for use?
Whom to report and where to report if mentioned clearly it will helpful.
I think we should click the "Report to Moderator" button if we find any spam.
I once again stress that pre-registration verification could be a deterrent measure.
Guys, to fight against spam, and reward users for reporting, 8 points are given from now onwards. However please note that reporting the same topic more than once (and their by flood us with emails), will make you disqualify from getting points.
Yes Gulshan ji . These steps are very much necessary to maintain the dignity of the site.
This post also attacked by spammers!A long post is seen above!
Abid.. they find this post as popular ;)

Gulshan, pre-reg measures are already in place to check certain spam emails with spam db but they are using mostly gmail email addresses to register. I will look into more ways of controlling this.

I hope that with determination, some methods to control spamming will emerge. Already there appears some improvement.
It's back again in its ugly form! The forum is full of one-liner spam posts at this moment!

Yeah It has! This person is probably someone who has not read through the rules, will make sure he understands this!
Very nice Gulshanji. You have created a very useful guidelines. Let us see whether this will taken by our management or not and let us know our boddunan friends opinion also
I have seen some posts with the words: " I do not know about the topic and so cannot comment." Obviously such posts are a sort of spam. Here we share information and not ignorance.

Yes sir i have seen many post like this for the shake of point.. Why don`t you decrease the point for this type of post..
I agree with the satish. they should decrease the points for the forum spammers and let them know for which reply their points got reducted so that from next time they be careful while forum posting

Yes i agree with you sarala, After deducting point the moderator have to send a notification via PM to that person reason for deducting point this way they will never commit the same thing again in future..
Spamming is a very offence and completely incompatiable with acceptable behavior in a community!
Some members have suggested deletion of spammed posts and deduction of points by moderator. I am also a moderator but can act only in the category 'daily dose'. It appears that there is no provision for deduction of points for published posts. I also do not know whether points will be deducted after deletion of post. Probably, this is automatically processed by computer. This can be better explained by Maverick, web master.
