IMPORTANT ALERT: Phishing attempts on boddunan accounts

Hi All,

Recently we observed that few of our members are getting phishing emails that ask to reset their passwords. These emails are an attempt to trap you and their by steal your password.

PLEASE NOTE THAT BODDUNAN WILL NEVER EVER SEND ANY SUCH EMAILS FOR RESETTING PASSWORDS, UNLESS YOU SPECIFICALLY REQUESTED THROUGH THE WEBSITE.

So I request you to remove such emails immediately from your mailbox if you have not requested for resetting password.

If your password is compromised, please report it immediately to boddunan team and ask for new password, preferably through contact form.

In recent days I too have oberved the presence of bogus members who have been relentelessly trying to spam with other suspicious motives.I hope Maverick's post of caution is taken note of by all.

I was not aware of any such activity happening until now. Thanks for reporting this, will be now on alert from such fake mails!!

This is a stitch in time by maverick.I saw some obscene pictures in some posts which were later deleted.Cautious approach by active members will keep these things at bay.

Apart fro Boddunan, I received an E mail from Face Book that some one logged in my account from a source that I do not usually do. Then I logged in and changed my password.
I feel that there are some spammers who want to demoralize the active and sincere members. Let us face them bravely and with determination.

Recently my email has been flooded with these kind of mails by the name of almost all the members on Boddunan be it Sandhya or Suni, or Sanjeev, Sarala, Gulshan Sir. ...almost everyone. Is there any way I can block them ?

I have not sent you any mail. So, mail sent in my name must be spam. Such mail can be blocked.

I was getting such messages until last week starting from about 3-4 weeks but no more. These have stopped coming and these messages from not by bogus members but real and with their username, profile picture and real looking e-mail ID. I was getting about 10-15 such mails every day. I reported these to admin who said we should not open them unless the mails are from official site.

May be being a moderator whatever we are posting you might be getting in the form of mails.Please check out with other moderators or admin hope they can resolve it. :blink:

Asha that is not a phishing attempt but some kind of technical glitch. I too was receiving those messages so I requested Maverick to look into it and now it has stopped. A phishing attempt will not be made by those who are known persons here.

That seems to be the case with such messages!

Since there is no phishing activity anywhere, the thread is no longer relevant, hence locking it up!

I unlocked the thread just to state my point here. The messages I receive, are by the names of the members here. I know they are not from the members as the profile picture that comes along is different most of the times. Neither are those the notifications of whatever activity I may be performing on the site.
