The problem arises because our thoughts and actions mismatch. while we mentally adhere to norm of sanctity of family relations and mentally against extra marital relations, we do what we think wrong.

There would be no problem if there is pragmatic view. A couple are not isolated from rest of the world and an extra marital relation should be no big issue. As long as couple live amicably and in a friendly family environment, extra marital relation of any spouse should pose no problem. Very small children are not aware or bothered about. The children should be made to understand that the should not and need not go in details of their parents' personal life. Ultimately, the children will also lead their life independently after adulthood.
