Shillong is principal city in North East and has a university namely North East Hill University (NEHU). It has been decided to develop as an educational hub.

Shillong should be made a center of excellence so that students from all parts of India and even neighboring countries study there. This will help integrate North East with rest of India and serve the cause of national integration.
