More features on Polls

I liked the idea of poll closing date it was needed.

Pie chart looks good, but its not yet complete.. need modifications..
Also its confusing.. earlier bar chart was showing option. percentage & bar at same line.. now we need to match all things. As colours are not specifing option..

It should show which colour represents which option, also with percentage votes received, which is currently not showing.


Featured Polls: Now creative poll of the week contest winning polls will be tagged with Featured Polls.
I cant see it yet.. where is it? :huh:

New Poll suggestion is again a good idea to show some polls created earlier by same users to new users.(which might not be accessed otherwise)

i also have an opinion that the new pie chart is little complicated..Its good,but little confusing as Amit said..
maybe thats because we are not used to that style..When we see the pie chart more and more,i think we may get adapted to the style.

Also..it would be better if the latest poll of the Author is shown in the 'Author Polls' tab.. because i believe most of us make bad polls in the beginning and later improves.Like some users have GK type questions as their first polls, then after understanding the correct way, they started creating good polls.Here in this case, those early bad polls come in the first place :)

Other features like poll closing date are very apt idea for a poll! :) ..and its really good.

No we have to welcome the change . Let we have change .

i don't know if this is called a bug..But i think there is a little problem.
In the tab called 'Author polls',Only the first 6 polls of the author appears every time.and,Suppose if we select any one from that list also,the same 6 polls remain.!
So the current poll which we are watching also will appear in the 6 polls listed under that tab!

The polls feature has become very attractive. I need some time to understand the real way to operate it in the new system

The only thing that I have noticed is that after clicking for voting the the action does not show posted. Looks a bit heavy.

@Amit, may be we have seen the bar graph so much time and we used to it. I believe the current graph would be useful in the long term. If not we will revert to the plane bar of do some more on this.

The pie chart you have shown is useful when the options length is less say 5-10 characters. What is the case when we have 100 character 5 options? It will not fit around the pie chart. That is the reason why we chose this method.

And the percentage of votes is shown just after the number of votes. Is that not you are looking for?

@MC, I will do the update for it to show latest polls. Thanks for noticing this.

@Harish, do you mean you are not able to vote? Please let me know on which poll you have voted and any error you get like javascript error.

@Parthiban, I agree with you. We should welcome change and the reason why we do all these modifications :) .

On clicking voting button it takes the vote. I am able to vote. Yet the page remains as it is, showing that the action is over.

If I click it again it shows "you are permitted to vote once only"...

I think you might have addressed the problem

I faced a problem today.When casted a vote the action is going on indefinitely.It doesn't comes to an end and I just clicked next poll.On checking 'statics' there I saw point for casting vote and hence ensured that vote had polled.For all polls today the same effect takes place.

I think that has been rectified... Just try on it again.

I think that problem was present before the introduction of new poll features.i have experianced it sometimes.I think it might be the problem with internet connection.When my connection gets slow, i observed that it takes time and later when i go to other page and come back,i can see the vote registered!!.The same thing also happen when posting a comment for poll.it takes time.
i don't know the correct reason.maybe its what i said.

All the new features looks good to me especially the pie chart. I would like to say one suggestion regarding the pie chart. Is it possible to have a unique colour for the percentage column. Presently this colour also appears for the option column also.

We have ommited the individual colors intensionally. Many colors at many places will make page odd and may confuse the users. Anyway the options are preceeded by the appropriate color box.

Two more features added on poll!!!! :cheer:

Now we can get all the polls made by a user and also we can know which all users voted in a poll!!

The feature "Users voted for this poll" is interesting. Now we can see who voted for the polls we create :)

On voting still take more time than previous . this time poll voting is not easy as previous.

Guys, we have added few more features to polls.

1. Previous button to navigate to previous poll
2. View results button to view the results before voting.

They look so professional and easy to navigate front and back.Thanks
