Who invented the kite and when?

The kite comes from China. This dates to earlier than 2800B.C.

We have a traditional festival in this month of January called Sankranthi... We see kite competitions all over.... :)

Thanks for the answer buddy and it was interesting and i always used to wonder why the people of china used to fly kites every day. At present i am living in Singapore and find people love to fly kites and now i know why they love to do.
