After 5 years, we are getting an opportunity to celebrate our daughter's birthday on Mahanavami. She was born on a Mahanavami day and we always missed that day to celebrate it as her birthday, exactly by 1 month. Perhaps two calenders co-incident once in every 5 years :cheer: :cheer:
Today evening we are offering our books and study materials for Saraswathy pooja. So, we won't read or write anything till Vijayadesami morning. That's why am starting this thread today. :) :)
Please bless my kid, my dear friends :) :) :)

Muharram is not a celebration mam, and if some one hears it may faint immediately.
In your previous post, you mentioned Muharam. Actually it is Bakhrid.

You can also celebrate ,now unity in diversity so every festivals are of all communities.
Boss, Tomorrow is Bakrid. Not Muharam. Both are different.
In our parts the Muharram is not celebrated but a day to remember Hussain who sacrificed his children , the period of mourning when they weep remembring their sacrifices.

Nice explanation is given by the Editor & Moderator Suni51. Hope this clarifies.

I found it's the beginning of muslim month
I don't know if it's celebrated or not :woohoo:
Right Sandhya Madam, Muharam is Muslims New Year.
@Sandhya- You have to decide weather this is about mahanavami the B'day of your daughter, Bakrid in Kerala or Muharram the New Year that is a few months away- How was the celebration and where is my sweet/cake for the auspicious occasion??? :) I read you made for 20 and only 12 came. You must be eating leftovers.
Suni51, Get me some some sweets from Sandhya Madam. When will be the treat for Bodddunan Family?

you know well, we celebrate birthdays according to star....
Her DOB is Oct 20.
But she was born on Mahanavami day in 2007. Mahanavami always come on Thiruvonam star...applicable both for North and South Indians.
Desara celebrations begins in the second month......(Kanni). My girl was born on Thulam. So, if 10 day celebration completes on Thulam month, of course it will fall on my girl's birthday. Understood?
After 2007, it's for the first time, Vijayadesami/Mahanavami falls on 3rd month..Thulam.

We never celebrate with cakes...but with Kerala sadya..pure vegetarian.....
Every year, it's celebrated as Thiruvonam.........of Chingam..... :P (she belongs to Thiruvonam star)
If her date of birth is 20th October, then you are privileged to give 2 treats this year for kid's birthday Madam.
October 20 has come and gone......now no way for another treat!
It is better to ask your kid directly. She will give I think.
