This is doubtless a very interesting piece of information.I am very keen to know its exact implications.In future, should we be guided by the choice of these words in our articles?For instance, the title of one of my articles "negotiating taxing troubles" appears in it. Would its further use fetch similar kind of results?

Of course. Google ranks pages if similar words appear many times on a page or series of pages. So if a user searches for a keyword, it will show the sites with good content having many references to the keyword. That is the reason why the keywords are important. And add to that, the article title plays vital role in selecting keywords. if the keywords are in title of the article, they will get better exposure.
