Top 3 states with highest growth are all BJP ruled
Chhattisgarh, a state that was formed just 10 years back has emerged as the state with the highest economic growth in the last fiscal. The other two states in top three are Gujarat at second position and Uttarakhand at third position. Interestingly all top three states are ruled by popular BJP governments.
Chhattisgarh, the state, carved out from Madhya Pradesh in November 2000 clocked a GDP growth rate of 11.49 per cent in constant prices at Rs 60,080 crore in 2009-10.
During same period(2009-10), Gujarat emerged as the runner-up with a GDP growth rate of 10.53 per cent. The state’s GDP at constant prices over the last decade went to Rs 2,52,528 crore.
The third place bagged by Uttarakhand, a state which was carved out of Uttar Pradesh in November 2000. The hill state’s GDP grew by 9.41 per cent to Rs 29,507 crore in 2009-10.
It should be mentioned that in any government scheme’s performance parameter, the BJP rules states are generally found on top. Perhaps the UPA government is terrorize by this saffron terror.
