Close on the heels of India, other countries too ar econsidering banning Blackberry!

Lebanon - The country says it is reviewing whether BlackBerry service raises any security concerns for it.

Saudi Arabia - The kingdom's telecom regulator had ordered a halt to BlackBerry service across the kingdom. Saudi Arabia's telecommunications regulator says it will allow service to continue in the country for now, citing "positive developments." It's unclear, however, whether the reprieve is permanent.

United Arab Emirates - The Persian Gulf state plans to shut down e-mail, messaging and Web browsing on BlackBerrys starting in October. It says it's still in talks with Research In Motion Ltd., the Canadian maker of the device.

Indonesia - The Southeast Asian country wants RIM to place a server in its country because it fears that e-mails could be intercepted as they pass through RIM's servers overseas. It is considering banning the service, but has no firm plans.

i think not a good news for Blackberry and Blackberry users.... :(
Its directly related with security concerns which cant be compromised at any cost.the importance of this becomes more vital as soon as we realize that only "intelligence" is the medium through which source of terrorism may be attacked . terrorism cant be checked at last level of deployment.
Terrorists will be the most beneficial persons if BlackBerry is not banned.
Black Berry had revealed they had no control over these messages. Then who had control?
Yes Abid, that is a concern for every country. And it is the least expectation of any country that the server should be in their country for their use, no one would like to lose control of so crucial technology such that it can be misused by anyone.
So BlackBerry is in Black List!!

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
how so ever the technology it must address the security constraints of a country. BlackBerry failed to do it.
Why black berry only has these problems? Many other companies are doing it very cool!
if it is unsafe then it should be ban,,,,,,,,,,,,

We have to wait and watch RIM's decision on this issue.
National Security is Always First Everywhere.
