Of course yes, I know that!! But isn't it exactly like humans, some people do that you know, keep on growling and baring their teeth to get others' attention, usually undeserved!! :laugh:

Yes,the Proverb is indeed true. The dog barks to show his strength,but internally the Dog has also fear from his opponent(to whom the dog barks)

I agree. If you fear and run away, dog will chase and bite. But if you do not care and move on slowly, the dog will not bite. In fact, you may move away from the dog's jurisdiction and enter another dog's area.

I don't know how this proverb originated but I know a dog biting and barking both according to its own sweet will!

Dogs are our watchmen. They do not bark at known persons. They also do not bark when all is normal. They bark more at waste collectors considering them thief. They will also bark when you wear some fancy dress and appear unusual.

I may add that proverb is 'barking dogs seldom bite'. 'Seldom' differs from 'never' and 'do not'. This means 'rarely'. So, there is some small scope of barking dog also bite.

But one thing has made curious that dogs never trouble ones who dress normally! They would always give a hell to vagabonds and mad-caps!

But I saw a dog was barking while it bit an innocent guy. He did not read the proverb perhaps. What do you say friends? :evil:

Those who look different are strangers and so the dogs consider them as outsiders or thieves. This is duty of watch man that a dog faithfully renders.

Most dogs are more faithful than watchmen, watchmen can sleep some times but dogs are ever alert.

Exactly sanjeev, you are right. if the dog doesnot bark then it may jump. According to the proverb we can say the meaning as a person who be silent may be dangerous
