You can never delete system apps that comes preloaded with phone.. (except few one).. The applications which are installed in system files you can't delete them directly..

For that you first have to ROOT your phone, which is risky process and will surely void your phone's warranty.. After rooting phone you can uninstall those apps with certain application.

If you don't want to see those icons on your menu then you can disable them from settings and manage application.. By that way they will be gone from your menu screen but they will be still there in your phone.

Will you please name that application for uninstalling the builtin Apps..

Name of application is 'Titanium Backup'.... But you have to root your phone first.

OK. This will help me. Uninstalling built in apps is far more direct and easy for Ipad

Not same in Android.. We have to ROOT our phone for the same.. As without accessing system folder we can't delete any system apps.. And for reaching to system folder we have to ROOT the phone. But it can be risky if we try it without proper knowledge and information.

I came to know that uninstalling the built in apps is not same for Ipad and android. In Ipad from settings any App can be removed in a jiffy and it shows the remaining space instantaneously. Of course uninstalling the built in apps in Android will pose problems if you handle 'Titanium Backup' without proper know how.

Can we can uninstall those built in apps like app store, music, videos from the ipad.. I don't think so.

Music and videos can be uninstalled ,But Not App stores. But app stores is very useful and it occupies very less space. I never thought that it's unnecessary as it goes on informing the arrival of new Apps.

I didn't mean that..

I am not talking about deleting music and videos. I am talking about apps that playing those music and videos.. Other apps like maps, calling ,messaging, itunes.. all are inbuilt apps and can not be installed directly.. I know who wants to delete them either..

I am just saying that because in Android we can delete all those apps like phone, message, music and all other inbuilt apps after ROOTING the phone... That's what make ANDROID different than IOS as android is open source.

I agree with you. It was my misconception . And you have cleared my misconception.

What happened actually is that, I installed some updates to Gmail, Google Search and a couple of more apps. The total size went over 100MB. My new phone is hardly three months old and it has slowed down considerably. I can't remove any of the the Google apps which I just mentioned and Maps, etc. I had installed Facebook app, but then I uninstalled it within 3-4 days as it increased 45MB more.
I guess, I can at least revert back and uninstall the updates. That's the button that I see when I open the apps settings. If I revert, I can get rid of 100+MB storage. I think, I will do that. But please suggest some things.
And yes, I use Android OS.

Removing those updates will bring down the size by around 100MB. So, I guess, that's the thing I can go for. It will remove the updates from all apps, I guess. But they won't obstruct the functioning of the apps. Am I right?

Yes that app will run fine.. You will lose those new features you got in those app from updates.. That's it. You can still work with old version of the same.

Then I guess, I better go with that. That will at least reduce the space. There was lots of updates that I got and I guess, it's about time I remove the updates.
I only need to ask one thing - Does uninstaling the updates uninstall the updates for all the app updates or for only that particular app? If it removes the updates individually, it's better, I can choose to keep updates for some of them and remove for those I don't need.

It will only remove update of that particular app, it will not affect other apps update till you remove them directly.

You can also move your installed apps into SD card so that it not slowdown your mobile.. But that also you can't move system apps into SD card, only those which you installed later on.

AKP has suggested some ways to uninstall the built in APPs. Please go through the old threads and follow them.
Hello friends,
I want to uninstall some built-in apps from my Android phone. But when I long press it, it just shows the option for moving it from home screen. I can uninstall the apps that I downloaded easily. The same doesn't happen with built-in apps. Please help.

I would advise you not to root your android phone, it will sans you from future Google Updates, as from time to time invisibly Google updates its IS, like recently they have give offline speech recognition file, though one has to find it deep into setting, without rooting you can disable built in apps, and here is the process, I use Android Jelly Bean, though for all the other version procedure is similar.

Setting> More> Application Manager > tap it it will open Downloaded > Here the list of application, it is similar to Add remove program of Windows, > Click on any program and wait for few seconds and APP info> will open, here tap on Disable> and Uninstall and you are done. The built in program will disable and it will no longer work in back ground, in this way built in app are disabled. For sure no built in app of Android can be uninstalled as they are treated as critical system files, but one can disable and uninstall from dash board in order to stop the program from running back ground and eating important system resources as well as eating network traffic.

Not in all cases.. I have rooted my nexus 7 tablet and even after rooting it I was able to update the latest version of android... But yes in some cases it may not work..

Rooting has many advantages too.. So I don't mind rooting my phone. I used to root my any phone.

A friend of mine damaged his Android phone while trying to remove his built in apps. He dared of course but not equipped with the modus operandi in Rooting.
Now he has requested the local supplier to mend it. The supplier agreed to do the needful. I'm waiting to see further developments.

Well if he has rooted his phone and after that trying to remove those apps.. then he must have remove some system file which can cause damage(software wise) to the phone..

Well, I have done that so many times but fortunately I know how to get whole software back, so no problem.

Honestly so far I have rooted all my android phones so far.. And I have done many things with problems with them. But fortunately I able to solve them all.

Once I have also erased IMEI numbers from my phone, but that also I able solve it...
The principal part of rooting is that it will destroy guarantee, and this will be bad if hardware fault appears, so be prepare for it if you root it, then if your phone is new and you have AMC attached with it all will be destroyed, it is always better to leave technical side better to company and Google, if you are tech efficient then you can do rooting like #AKP himself he can root phone, but person with minuscule technical knowledge, rooting is always dangerous. Rooting will give you unrestricted access to phone but it has bad side, The security risk of rooting or Apple jailbreak can be read in this link, http://resources.avg.com.au/security_risks/why-rooting-your-android-phone-is-bad-for-you/# it is from one of top security company AVG's article, it is better to disable app rather than uninstalling apps, as no updated apps can have security risk, it is better to disable and force stop those apps as those apps cannot be uninstalled from application manager. I know rooting of android and jailbreaking of Apple I Phone, but I never does it to my Galaxy phone or to my I Pad, though I used to experiment when some of friends calls me to do it, this only justifies, even if I efficient I never do it on my phone.
