The praise by U.S. President is just diplomatic gesture. It is customary to say something to please host country and we should not read too much in speeches.
Obama wanted business from india. He wanted jobs for their people. So, the formalities he have to these lines. We are not at all superpower, but we are moving rapidly towards the goal to become a superpower.
Let the government work with zeal and purpose to achieve hundred percent literacy, eradicate poverty, bring smiles to the faces of the most deprived and impoverished instead of chasing this useless tag of "Super Power"!! We already know the fate of one such "Super Power"!
Whatever he said should not blind our eyes as all knows that such praises are just to grab something from others..But compared to other leaders of USA I see that obama is sincere in his activities and trying his best to improve the present state of his country...it is too early to decide his capability.. :S
Let our super power ambitions match our determination and zeal to fight corruption which is taking a huge toll on our national life,to work for social justice and other important issues which confornt the nation!
We all know that US has always been for itself. It helps others just for the support it requires for being the Top Power of the world. So it is wasteful to think US helping India on such issues. Many terrorist countries like Pakista are its firm supporters and thats why it won't hurt them for the time being.

This view is strengthened by a report that U.S.A. is not going to support India for permanent membership in Security council. The report:
Diplomacy is at the core of any international relations and these relationships are formed on shared interests. If USA is trying to cosying up to India now,we have to understand the perspective behind it.
As opinionated by Mr Mukherjee we must first try resolving our basic issues like those of corruption , poverty etc. There is no use trying to reach Jupiter if a significant % of our populace is living below poverty line.
You are absolutely correct! Shouting from roof-tops that we are a super power would always sound hollow unless these basic issues are tackled with all seriousness!
