U.S.A. needs Pakistan because of strategic geographical position. So, U.S.A. has to maintain soft attitude towards Pakistan.

I think there is another aspect to it,US can not opt for outright condemnation of Pakistan as it played a very significant role in promoting the cause of Pakistan and mainly responsible for what Pakistan is today!

AS long as you maintain diplomatic relations with any country, you cannot outright condemn. In fact, Pakistan is also victim of terrorists as evidenced by many terrorist acts in Pakistan. It will suffice if U.S.A. uses influence to stress upon Pakistan to deal firmly with terrorists and fundamentalists.

I wonder if Pakistan deserves any consideration on this count after promoting terror and terrorism for decades!!!

Pakistan is herself suffering from terrorist acts. Terrorism has proved Frankenstein' s monster to them. Unless Pakistan combats terrorists, more harm will be done to them than to us.
U.S.A. as well as India will do best to pressurize Pakistan in this regard. India has more at stake. We must take more strict action if necessary. We can't depend on U.S.A. who has strategic interest in Pakistan.

I don't think maintaining diplomatic relations can come in the way of condemning any condemnable act of any country. We have been doing it regularly in relation to Pakistan!

I think Obama's disappointment is just for sweetening the Indians.

This is correct. Words are words. U.S.A. needs Pakistan for her strategic needs. Pakistan's Geographical situation suits U.S.A. strategy to interfere in Middle East.
India has to ensure stringent action against terrorist plan and monitor the follow up action by U.S.A. and Pakistan. India has to look after own interests and not depend on others.
