The Uttar Ppradesh is acquiring land for yamuna Express way. The farmers are very agitated. They are not satisfied with compensation package. many do not want to lose land at all since the experiebce is that the cash received as compensation is wasted by the youth and after some time they are spoiled and unemployed.

There have been land acquisition problems in other states also. The farmers and adivasis do not want to give up their land. for industrial and road construction purposes. It appears that in over zeal for development, the need for agriculture, forests and animal life is being ignored. This indicates peril for all.

Yes! The left is funny! They opposed acquisition everywhere, be it in Gurgaon, Andhra or where ever...Now when they realized the need to start development of Bengal...They face the same peculiar problem of opposition.
Although we need land for our overall economic development the attempts to acquire lands forcibly under an archaic British Act and with inadequate compensation to the stakeholders are highly unethical and undesirable. What happened in West Bengal involving acquisition of land for Tata Motors was that the Left Front Government was acting as the broker for Tatas!!
This kind of news always comes up. Many instances like Vedantha, Tata's Nano plant, all have been the same kind.
